Community Service & Civic Learning

Bridging classrooms and local society through structured service-learning logs, intergenerational partnerships, food drives, and civic impact projects.

“Everybody can be great... because anybody can serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.”

— Martin Luther King Jr.· The Drum Major Instinct Sermon
Foundational Competencies

4 Pillars of Service-Learning

Connecting classroom SEL competencies directly to community impact

Inquiry

Investigative Community Needs Audits

Students interview local leaders, food banks, and elderly care homes to identify real human needs rather than making assumptions.

Intergenerational

Regular visits to senior centers where students record life stories, read books, and share digital literacy with elderly community members.

Leadership

Student-Led Charity Campaigns

Autonomous fundraising, book donation drives, and environmental restoration projects planned and executed entirely by student committees.

Accreditation

Civic Impact Reflection Portfolios

Structured post-service journaling documenting personal growth, ethical awakenings, and systemic understanding of social challenges.
